last year i entered the WA Australian Institute of Professional Photography awards for the first time and managed to win the Illustrative category with these images:
so this year i thought i would enter the 2009 Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards to see how they scored on a national level. this time i only submitted two images for the Illustrative category. my entries arrived back in the post yesterday (was waiting impatiently all week- i didn’t have anyone in Sydney to fill me in on last weekends judging!) and i’m happy to report that i scored 75 for the image on the far left and 85 for the far right- 85 means a silver award- woohoo! this also means it will be published in the 2009 awards book, which is extra excitement!
this is my favourite image out of this series, by far. most people usually seem drawn to the curve of the black in the first image, so i thought that one would score better! i’m really happy that my gut feeling is proving itself right, as it usually does! (why do we try to over think things?)

Congratulations all three are awesome. I cant decide which one I like over the other but I am drawn to the middle one. Nice work mate all us Silver award winners should have a silver party LOL
